About

Alpha Skin Care (formerly Alpha Hydrox) was founded in 1992 by a small company based in Denver, Colorado. From the beginning, the philosophy behind Alpha Skin Care has been to use naturally powerful ingredients to formulate the best possible skin care products at the best price.

Glycolic alpha hydroxy acids or AHAs, as they are commonly known, are the corner stone of Alpha Skin Care. Derived from fruit, nuts and milk, AHAs gently lift dead cells from the surface of skin, allowing fresh healthy cells to emerge. AHAs reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, treat acne and even skin tone. AHAs leave skin soft, smooth, healthy, and younger-looking.

As Alpha Skin Care developed new products, we added additional natural active ingredients including retinol, hydroquinone and hyaluronic acid. Many of our products also have peptides, green tea, vitamins and anti-oxidants to boost the effectiveness. Today, Alpha Skin Care continues to make some of the most effective skin care products available at any price.

From a small skin care company in Denver, one of the best kept secrets in skin care – Alpha Skin Care. Have you tried it yet? For more information, visit our website or follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

  1. Hello
I live in Chicago, Illinois and I use to buy this product from Jewel Osco Store. I was just wandering is there any stores in the Chicago area any more that sell this product.

    1. Alpha Hydrox is available at Ulta stores and at Walgreens in the Chicago area. Both carry some of our products but not all of them. For many people the best way to shop for our products is online at http://www.alphahydrox.com We offer a lot of special, discounts and free shipping on orders over $35. Alpha Hydrox is also available at drugstore.com.

    1. Hi! Thanks for asking about expiration dates. The code you referred to means that your Souffle was manufactured on Sept. 14, 2012. We suggest a 3- year shelf life for best results. The product will, however, probably be effective beyond that time period. We manufacture frequently and we do not hold a lot of inventory so it is highly likely that when you buy something from us it is fresh. The product you are using was made just a few months ago and will be good for awhile. Great question!

    2. I have the alpha hydrox lotion white/red bottle, it has 1014 on the bottom, what is the expiration date, is it Oct 2014?

      1. Hi Cindy! Oops! Looks like we missed your post. So sorry for the delay in responding! The code that indicates the manufacturing information is an eight digit code. The numbers you provided do not indicate an expiration date. The code is on the bottom of the container. If you would like to look again and send us the eight digit code, we will be happy to help you determine the expiration date. All of our products have a minimum of a three year shelf life. We manufacture so frequently that it is unlikely you will find an expired product if you are buying it from us or one of our retail partners. We hope that helps to answer your question. Thanks for checking with us.

    1. Hi Lucille! Thanks for your interest in Alpha Hydrox! Unfortunately, we do not have a retail partner in Canada. Our products are available online at alphahydrox.com and we do ship to Canada. Our products are also available at drugstore.com or ulta.com. Both of these sites also carry a large variety of health and beauty products. We hope this will help you to find the Alpha Hydrox product you are looking for. Thanks for asking!

  2. Thanks for your reply. I tried to shop online but when it came to giving my contact information it would only accept American states- not Canadian provinces. Also it needed a zip code while we use postal codes. Any suggestions?

    1. Hi Grace,
sorry to have missed your post from late February. The lot number you provided for the Retinol ResQ indicates that it was made on February 10, 2013. So it was made less than 2 weeks before you posted your question. This is very true of all most all Alpha Hydrox products. We are making them constantly and we do not keep large inventories so you can be certain that our products are extremely fresh. If you do stock up on an item, you can be confident that the products you purchase will likely be used long before they expire. I hope that answers your question! Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox!

      1. Hi Sal! We do not understand what you are trying to read. Please clarify. We have looked for another comment from you but we do not have one. Let us know if we can help you further.

  3. Hi, I love your products! I wanted to know if you are no longer producing the Neck cream? I no longer see it on your order site.

    Thanks,
    Denise

    1. Hi Denise,
Thanks for your interest in Alpha Hydrox! We are currently reformulating the Niacin Neck Cream to incorporate ingredients that are less likely to have any irritation. There are various forms of Niacin some are more likely to cause redness than others. We are working to formulate the most effective product with the least chance of irritation. When it is available again, we will be sure to post it on Facebook so check in from time to time in the next few months to see if it is ready. Great question! Thanks for asking!

  4. Hi, Can u tell me the expiry date of my product? Its code is 02C23250. The product is Alpha hydrox the original 8% AHA with red lid and I can’t find it on website. Thanks a lot.

    1. Hi and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The product was manufactured March 2, 2012. Most products have a shelf life of about three to four years so it should be fine for several years. We are glad you checked with us and thanks for your interest in Alpha Hydrox!

  5. Pls tell me EXP date of my Foaming Face Wash since I can’t find it on the bottle. It’s code is 28H23313. Thanks

    1. Hi Mai! The code on your Foaming Face Wash indicates that it was manufactured on August 28, 2012. Most products can be used safely for 3 – 4 years. That means that it will not expire until the summer of 2016! We hope that answers your question. Thanks for checking with us and for using Alpha Hydrox!

    1. Hi Sabrina! The code on your Alpha Hydrox product means that it was manufactured on March 5, 2013. It has a three year shelf life so it will not expire until March 5, 2016 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us and for using Alpha Hydrox!

    1. Hello and thanks for your interest in Alpha Hydrox! The code on the bottom of your 10% Enhanced Lotion indicates that it was made on May 2, 2012. Our AHA products have a minimum of a 3 year shelf life. That means that your Enhanced Lotion will expire on May 2, 2015 at the earliest. We are constantly manufacturing new batches of Alpha Hydrox products so it is unlikely you will ever find an expired product when you buy through us or a retail partner. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for checking with us! Have a great day!

  6. Hi. I also just wanted to ask about the expiration date of my Enhanced Lotion 10% Glycolic Acid since I couldn’t quit figure out how the code works from the other responses! It is 06F23285. I got it at a Winners in Canada so I don’t know how long it had been there. Also, is the expiration date affected by when it was opened? Or is it three years only for an unopened bottle? Thanks.

    1. The expiration date on the bottom of your Enhanced Lotion indicates that it was manufactured on June 6, 2012. That means that it will expire on June 6, 2015 at the earliest. As long as the jar is tightly sealed, it should be fine until it’s expiration date. If however, the color or consistency change, it is best to discard it. Thanks for checking with us and using Alpha Hydrox!

  7. Found a half-used jar of Alpha Hydrox AHA Soufflé 12% in my drawer! Is it expired? Code 23L03068 and 1321 under the code. And how to tell from these codes the date of manufacture?

  8. Hey, I want to know the exp date for the alpha hydrox original enhanced lotion. I bought it a while ago and never finished it. I’m curious if I could still use it. The code number is 07C23251. Thank you.

  9. Thank you for any other informative blog. Where else could
I am getting that type of info written in such an
ideal manner? I have a challenge that I’m simply now operating on, and I have been on the glance out for such information.

  10. I love your products…but why can’t you print the manufacture or expiration date in a manner that is clear…so it doesn’t need to be interpreted by you? Just curious…thanks!

    1. Hi Kim! Great question! There is no standardized system for determining the expiration date on skin care products. The coded date refers to the date the product was manufactured. Codes are not intended to be confusing. The codes on our products (and most skin care products) includes a variety of information, not just the date the product was made. Temperature, humidity, storage, how and how often a product is used are some of the many factors that can affect the lifespan of a product. These things vary greatly with each consume, however, most products have a ‘shelf life’ of about 3 years. We manufacture and ship so frequently that it is highly unlikely you will ever find an old product. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for checking with us!

  11. Hi! Can you tell me the expiration date for my AHA soufflé 10F03007? This is unopened. If it’s passed the 3 year mark from the manufactured date should I throw it out or can it still be used with a less potent effect?
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Jackie! Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox and checking with us about the expiration date on your AHA Souffle. The code indicates that your Souffle was manufactured on June 10 2013. It has at least a 3 year shelf life. That means that the earliest it will expire is June 10, 2016. We manufacture so frequently that it is unlikely you will ever find an expired Alpha Hydrox product if you are buying it from us or a retailer. Please avoid buying any cosmetic products from third parties. We hope that answers your question. Have a great week!

  12. I absolutely love, love LOVE this products. I have tried a lot of products OTC, RX and natural home remedies and nothing compares to the Alpha Hydrox line. I have seen progress in my oily, acne riddled, uneven skin and sensitive skin in only 4 nights and 5 days. I cant express in a reply just how effective this line is and the affordable pricing is an added bonus. I DO NOT have to look any further, or continue to waste my time and money. Thank you Alpha Hydrox I am a forever and a day customer. Lastly, I have only drank water in the past 3 weeks which has helped my future of great skin move right along.

    1. Hi Yolanda! Thanks so much for the glowing review! We are delighted to know that you have had such great success.(Keep drinking lots of water. It really helps.) We love to hear from all our customers but endorsements like yours make us particularly proud of what we do. Everyone at Alpha Hydrox is just trying to do their best each day. Thanks for sharing your experience. As a small American manufacturer, every customer and every experience is important to our 62 employees and their families!

    1. Sorry for the oversight. We have had some turnover and it looks like we neglected to respond to you when you first posted your question. The code on the bottle indicates that the product was made on July 30, 2013. It will be good for a minimum of three years from that date. The other numbers are batching codes we use in the company. Thanks for checking with us and again, our apologies for the delay.

  13. Id like to know the exp of my AH Enhanced Lotion. 17C13110 below 1047. The bottle is yellowed and I bought a new one so ‘m wondering if I should just switch. Its almost empty but I hate to waste. I apply it pretty conservatively so they tend to last me a long time.

    1. Hi Lindsey! Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox and for checking with us about your enhanced lotion. The code refers to the date the lotion was manufactured. It was manufactured on March 17, 2011. The minimum shelf life is three years on the lotion. That means that it will be good until at least March 17, 2014. Is the lotion yellow or just the bottle? There are lots of factors that affect a cosmetic product. Storage, temperature, exposure to air and sunlight can all affect how a product look or feels. It should be fine to use in the next 2 months.

  14. Hello I just bought a bottle of alpha hydrox enhanced lotion. Could you please tell me when it’ll expire? The code is 27F334211029. Thank you.

    1. Hi Diane! Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code refers to the date that your bottle of Enhanced Lotion was manufactured. It was made on June 27,2013. It has a shelf life of 3 years at the minimum. That means that it will not expire until June 27, 2016 at the earliest. We manufacture smaller batches so often and they sell through so quickly that it is unlikely you will ever find a product that is close to expiration. Thanks for checking with us. We are happy to answer any questions you might have.

    1. Hi Carly! Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox and for checking with us about the expiration date on your 10% Enhanced Lotion. The code is the manufacturing and some other in-house coding. Have you had this for a while or was it a recent purchase? The code indicates that it was manufactured on July 9, 2010. All our Alpha Hydrox products have been formulated for a three year shelf life. That means that your Enhanced Lotion really should have been used before July 9, 2013. If it has been sitting open a cabinet it is probably best to discard it. If it was purchased recently consider returning it to the retailer. We manufacture so frequently, hold limited inventory and check every box that leaves our facility to insure quality. We hope that answers your question. Thanks again for checking with us!

  15. hi i recently buy a alpha hydrox enhanced cream 10% glycolic aha but i just wondering first on expired date code is 27 j33453 1243 but also i feel my skin very dry and red for one use i was a night when i used it! is that normal? i feel my skin very very dry and sensitive any tip will help a lot im in my 37 yrs thanks.

    1. Hi Lilly! Thanks for trying Alpha Hydrox! The code on your 10% Enhanced Cream indicates that it was made on September 27, 2013. It will not expire until September 27, 2016 at the earliest. So you have a very current, fresh cream. For most people, when they first start using an AHA product, they will experience a little tingling. This is the AHA loosening the dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. It is normal and usually goes away within a minute or so. Redness and dryness are not common. What other products are you using? It could be an interaction with other products. Are you wearing a sunscreen during the day? We would suggest using the 10% Enhanced Cream every other night for a while. Cleanse with a gentle, soap-free cleanser and be sure to wear a sunscreen when using AHAs. The tingling, redness and dryness should go away within a week or so as you skin adjusts. Please let us know if you continue to have concerns. Thanks for checking with us!

  16. Hi, I bought five units, but they came with no seal around the bottle. (I mean there is no way of knowing whether someone opened it or not.) Is it really this way, or should I suspect the store that sold them to me?
Another question: Could you please tell me the expire of 28H33437 1035?
    Best regards

    1. Hi Rita! Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox and thanks for checking with us about the products you bought. What product did you buy? Most of our products do not have seals. Only those that are more liquid, like the Intensive Serum have seals to prevent leaking during shipping. The product should be fine. We have been making Alpha Hydrox for 22 years and have never had a tampering incident. Regarding the code on your product, it indicates that it was manufactured on August 28, 2013. Our products have at least a three year shelf life which means it will not expire until August 28, 2016 at the earliest. We manufacture so frequently it is unlikely you will ever find a product that is close to expiring. Thanks again for using Alpha Hydrox.

  17. I bought the “Alpha Hydrox – AHA Enhanced Lotion (6 fl. oz.),” Barbara; but you answered my questions already. Thank you very much.

    1. Hi Mai! Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox and for checking with us. The date on your AHA souffle is the date it was manufactured. It was made on April 3, 2013. All of our products have a shelf life of a minimum of three years. That means that your Souffle will not expire until April 3, 2016 at the earliest. We hope we have answered your question.

  18. Hi,

I live in Dubai. Do you ship overseas or have a local distributor? If you do ship, what is minimum order value if any?

    1. Hi Sarah,
Thanks so much for your interest in Alpha Hydrox! Unfortunately, we do not ship to Dubai or any other country besides Canada. We do ,however, have a lot of international customers that buy through a package forwarding company like bongous.com. There are quite a few others as well. We are including the link to our website and Bongo for your convenience and more information. For Alpha Hydrox http://www.neotericcosmetics.com/alpha-hydrox/products/new-generation.html and for Bongo https://bongous.com/

  19. I have just recently ordered your products to complement 40% glycolic acid peels at the beauticians (thankfully there is a British supplier on Amazon.co.uk that will ship your products to me in the Netherlands). I read a review on your foaming facial wash that said there is no AHAs in this wash, is this true? I was also wondering if you were considering breaking into the European market? Thanks!

    1. Good afternoon.
Thanks for your interest in alpha Hydrox! Amazon is a good way to purchase our products if you do not live in the United States. It is true that our Foaming Face Wash is not formulated with AHAs. We wanted to create a mild, gentle, soap-free cleanser that would leave skin pH balanced and ready for applying AHAs. Cleansers do not stay on the skin. They are washed away. We opted for putting AHAs in lotions, gels and creams that stay on the skin and offer the maximum benefit. As far as entering the European market, it is unlikely at this time. US and European cosmetics regulatory agencies are very different making it difficult to distribute products. Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox and for checking with us!

All Alpha Hydrox products have a minimum shelf life of three years. That means that your Foaming Face Wash will not expire until January 29, 2017 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us!

  23. I have been using Alpha hydrox since1993 and still love it and recommend it to anyone who tells me I have nice skin. Have you brought back the neck cream? I never knew about it ( unfortunately)
And would like to try it now.

    1. Hi Jeanne! We really appreciate your long-term, loyal use of Alpha Hydrox! As a small American manufacturer, your support means a lot to each of our 60+ employees and their families! 1. Hi and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code on the the 12% AHA Souffle is manufacturing information. It indicates that it was made on January 12, 2012. All Alpha Hydrox products have a minimum shelf life of three years. That means that your Souffle will not expire until January 12, 2015 at the earliest. Even if it were to expire before you have used it all it may become ineffective but not harmful. Thanks for checking with us!

    1. Hi and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code is manufacturing information and it indicates that your AHA product was made on August 1, 2011. It has a minimum shelf life of 3 years. That means that it will expire on August 1, 2014 at the earliest. It would be wise to use it in the next few weeks. An older product will not hurt you but it may lose it’s effectiveness. Thanks for checking with us!

  25. How can i tell when my alpha hydroxy expires. I havent used it for years. The code on the bottom is 11096BP i think. Is it bad to use it after i have opened it and not used it for so long?

    1. Hi Victoria! The code you provided is not one of ours. It does not follow the format we use for manufacturing information. The third character would have to be a letter for it to be one of ours. We are sorry we cannot help you with your question at this time. If by chance there is a typo in code, contact us again and we will try to help you.

  26. Hi! Could you tell me the expiration date for my AHA Soufflé code 08L33471. I bought it from Drugstore. And can I apply retinol after it? thanks so much.

    1. Hi Alice! Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code is manufacturing information and it indicates that your AHA product was made on November 8, 2013. It has a minimum shelf life of 3 years. That means that it will expire on November 8, 2016at the earliest. We do not suggest using AHA and Retinol at the same time. For most people it is just too harsh. Retinols should really be used only at night. Use your AHA during the day but please be sure to wear a sunscreen. AHAs remove the top layer of dead skin cells which is the bodies natural sun protection. AHAs do not make you sun sensitive but skin is more susceptible to sun damage because you have removed the dead skin cells. You must replace it with a sunscreen. Thanks for checking with us!

    1. Hi and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code is manufacturing information and it indicates that your AHA product was made on October 22, 2013. It has a minimum shelf life of 3 years. That means that it will expire on October 22, 2016 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us!

  27. Hi! Could you tell me the expiration date for my Alpha Hydrox Oil-Free Formula with code 09H23307. I bought it from Drugstore long time ago.Is it bad to use it after i have opened it and not used it for so long?

    1. Hi and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code is manufacturing information and it indicates that your AHA product was made on August 9, 2012. It has a minimum shelf life of 3 years. That means that it will expire on August 9, 2015 at the earliest. An older product will not hurt you but it may lose it’s effectiveness. Thanks for checking with us!

  28. Years ago I used alpha hydroxy which I purchased at Walmart. When they no longer carried I stopped. I recently purchased A.H. The original oil free anti wrinkle but it is runny and clear and I remember my old products being creamy. Am I mistaken or is there something wrong with my product ?

    1. Hi Joan! Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox and for contacting us about your concern. There were 2 of our original 10% AHA products in Walmart; a cream and a lotion. The cream is actually an oil-free formula but it is a cream. Later we began offering a 10% AHA Oil-Free Treatment gel as well. We are guessing that you may have bought the cream years ago and bought the gel this time. It is a thinner formulation. Many people with oily skin do not wantto put something too creamy on their face for fear of breakouts. Here is the link to our website. Go to the Step #2 section to see the different AHA products we make. http://www.neotericcosmetics.com/alpha-hydrox/products/new-generation.html If you are disatisfied or feel you have bought the wrong product, please send an email to bgoldstein@slginc.com and we will help you to get what you want and need. Thanks again for using Alpha Hydrox!

    1. Hi Crystal! Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The 14% Intensive Serum is a great product. The code you provided is not one of our manufacturing code. All Alpha Hydrox products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. Since we have only been offering the serum for about 2 years, we feel confident that your Intensive Serum has at least another year and maybe more of effective use. Thanks for checking with us!

    1. Hi and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code is manufacturing information and it indicates that your AHA product was made on May 1, 2013. It has a minimum shelf life of 3 years. That means that it will expire on May 1, 2016 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us!

    1. Hi Chloe! Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! We do sell products directly to iHerb. If you are concerned about the product, we suggest contacting iHerb. Once it leaves our manufacturing facility there are so many factors that can affect a product. How and where is it stored? What’s the storage temperature? Is it exposed to sunlight? All of these can affect the odor, color and consistency of products. We have had a good business relationship with iHerb. It is likely they will be happy to help you resolve your concern. Thanks again for using Alpha Hydrox and for checking with us!

  31. You can try several things to help speed up the process and maybe even lighten the tan up a little bit.

Therefore, there is no risk of cancer, skin rash, and many other allergies
that you can catch by exposing your sensitive skin to
the elements. Exfoliating removes the dead skin cells, which means that the
tanner will dye the skin which is likely to last for
a far longer period of time.

    1. Hi and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code is manufacturing information and it indicates that your AHA product was made on November 21, 2013, 2014. It has a minimum shelf life of 3 years. That means that it will expire on November 21, 2016 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us!

    1. Hi and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code is manufacturing information and it indicates that your AHA product was made on February 19, 2014, 2014. It has a minimum shelf life of 3 years. That means that it will expire on February 19, 2017 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us!

  33. Hi! Can you tell me the expiration date of my retinol resq ? It is 15L33472. Can i use retinol ResQ with 12% AHA Souffle ?

    1. Hi! We do not recommend using 12% AHA Souffle and Retinol at the same time. Retinol should be used only at night. The Souffle can be used during the day but be sure to wear a sunscreen, too. If you only want to use treatment products at night then we suggest alternating the Souffle and Retinol. One night use one the next night use the other. Both cause minor irritation so using the two together is too harsh for most people. It is not a good idea to over treat your skin. A basic skin care routine used consistently will give you the best results. Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox and for checking with us!

  34. Hi
I recently purchased the 10 percent enhanced lotion, the aha swipes and the 14 percent glycolic serum.. Not sure if I should be using all 3 at the same time.. The lotion says to put a moisturizer on top. I am confused because I thought it was a moisturizer!

    Please advise
    Amy giacomini

    1. Hi Amy! We are happy to answer your question! The three products you purchased are all AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) products. All of them are considered treatment products. By ‘treatment’ we mean products that affect changes in the skin. If you have not used an AHA treatment product before, we suggest starting with the 10% Enhanced Lotion. The percentage of AHA is what is important. The higher the number the stronger it is. So start with a lower percentage and move up. In your case, DO NOT USE ALL THREE AT THE SAME TIME. It will be much too harsh and irritating for your skin. A basic skin care routine that incorporates the use of AHAs in the morning should start with a mild cleanser, then the AHA treatment product and then a sunscreen. If you are using AHAs at night, once again, use a mild cleanser and then an AHA. You can use a moisturizer after that if you have dry skin, however you do not have to use a moisturizer. It really depends upon your skin type and the climate where you live. Swipes can be used on other areas of the body, like elbows, knees and heels; anywhere you have rough, dry or patchy skin. Some people do use Swipes on their face but they have the same percentage of AHA as the 14% AHA Intensive Serum. We suggest you use all of the 10% Enhance Lotion first. Then see if you can use the Serum. If it bothers your skin too much, try our 12% AHA Souffle and later try the Serum again. Some people never use any AHA higher than a 10% or 12%. We hope this will help you to get the most out of your Alpha Hydrox products. Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox and for checking with us! Feel free to check back if you have any other questions.

  35. Hi. I also just wanted to ask about the expiration date of my Enhanced Lotion 10% since I couldn’t quit figure out how the code works from the other responses! It is 03F43529.

    1. Hi and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code is manufacturing information and it indicates that your AHA product was made on June 3, 2014, 2014. It has a minimum shelf life of 3 years. That means that it will expire on June 3, 2017 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us!

    1. Hi and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code is manufacturing information and it indicates that your AHA product was made on May 20,2014. It has a minimum shelf life of 3 years. That means that it will expire on May 20, 2017 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us!

  36. Hello. What is the expiration date on the oil free treatment ? Code is 19c43509. I see a lot of persons are inquiring about expiration dates. You all should have an expiration date translator on your website. The consumer can enter in the code and the website can tell us the expiration date. That way we will not have to email, post or call for a translation.

    1. Hi Kim! Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox and for your feedback about the expiration dates. The code is actually manufacturing information that includes the date. It indicates that your Oil-Free Treatment was made on March 19, 2014, 2014. It has a minimum shelf life of 3 years. That means that it will expire on March 19, 2017 at the earliest. We did have the coding information on our website for a while. Since the codes provide more information than just the manufacturing date, we removed it. For many consumers, it was more confusing than it was helpful. We appreciate your taking the time to contact us and share your comments!

    1. Good day! Sorry for the delay in responding. We missed your comment. We do not suggest using the Souffle and Retinol together. It is too harsh for most people. Over treating your skin can be very damaging and causes problems like skin that is too thin. Retinol should be used only at night. Souffle can be used during the day or at night. If you are using the Souffle during the day, be sure you are wearing a sunscreen over it. Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox and for checking with us about how to use our products!

  37. Pls tell me EXP date of my Foaming Face Wash since I can’t find it on the bottle. It’s code is 22L33474. Thanks

  41. Hi,
I have a ResQ that I had purchased a while ago, stopped, and then forgot about it. The code is 19L03066. What is the date for it?

    1. Hi Christine! The code on your Retinol ResQ is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on November 19, 2010. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. That means that your Retinol ResQ could only be guaranteed to be effective until November 19, 2013. If you use it, it will not hurt you but it also will not be very effective. We suggest purchasing a new one if you are interested in using a Retinol product. Thanks for checking with us and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox!

  42. There is no “Reply” link on the post from Barbara Goldstein on February 1, 2015 at 6:45 pm, so I have to leave my reply here. I left a query on January 24, 2015 at 1:22 pm. I don’t know why my query was cut off. No wonder it didn’t make sense.

You said that the expiry date on “10B23243” is February 10, 2013.

I was asking if you could tell us how to read that. When I look at an expiry date, how can I read it so I don’t need to contact you about it.

    1. Hi Sal! The code on an Alpha Hydrox product is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on February 10, 2012. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. That means that it will not expire until February 10, 2015 at the earliest. I’m sorry the information you were given was not correct. Someone else answered your question in my absence. The product will be fine for some time. As far as the code goes – there is other manufacturing information in it that makes it hard for us to explain how you can read the code. We manufacture so often that it is highly unlikely you will ever find an expired Alpha Hydrox product unless it is left in a cabinet for years. Most of the products we ship for sale are less than 3 months. Thanks for checking with us and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox!

  43. Hello, I have used Alpha Hydrox products for years and I have just turned 60! I love them! The products are increasingly more difficult to purchase in stores in my area. Therefore, I have visited your website to make a purchase. Just a quick question…I am accustomed to using the 12% AHA Souffle that came in a jar with a silver top. Is the current 12% AHA Souffle that you are selling now in the bottle the same consistency? I really loved the creamy consistency in the jar. Thanks for your reply.

    1. Hi Juli! Thanks for your long-time loyal use of Alpha Hydrox! We are glad you contacted us about the AHA Souffle. Yes, it is exactly the same product except now it is in a tube, not a bottle or jar. We made that change a few years ago for several reasons. In the cosmetic industry, many manufacturers are moving a way from jars because there is concern that putting putting fingers in jars may be unsanitary. It may transfer bacteria to creams that are then put on the face. Tubes are also recyclable and better for the environment. The cream is exactly the same. We did not change the formula in any way, however, some people have said it feels a little different. We hope that answers your question. Thanks again for contacting us and for using Alpha Hydrox!

  44. Another question…I have one jar left in my stash of the 12% AHA Souffle with the manufacturing code listed as the following: 12A23229 and under 1039…Is this within the 3 year safety net?
    Thanks again.

    1. The code is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on January 12, 2012. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. That means that it was good until January 12, 2015 for sure. The 3 years is the minimum amount of time it will be effective. Stored carefully it should be effective longer than that. Truthfully, we believe you can still use it. As long as it has not been opened and exposed to air and, if it has been stored at room temperature (not too hot, not too cold) it should be fine. It will not hurt you. It just becomes less effective over time. Thanks for checking with us!

    1. Good morning Tammy! Yes, we are discontinuing the Nourishing Cleanser. Recent research that indicates that the micro beads may not be good for the environment. Foaming Face Wash is our number 1 selling product and works equally well on both dry and oily skin. It is specifically formulated to leave skin at the proper pH level. We are sorry that you are disappointed. If you would like to try the Foaming Face Wash we will be happy to send you one free of charge. Simply email bgoldstein@slginc.com with an address and we will get it out to you today. Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox and thanks for sharing your comments with us. We really do like to hear feedback from our customers. It helps us to know the things we are doing right as well as the things we need to do better.

  45. I just bought the enhanced lotion 10% off of amazon. Can you tell me the expiration date for the product I recieved.

    18L43593 1217

    Thank you!

    1. Hi Nicole, the code on your enhanced lotion is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on November 18, 2014. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. That means that your Enhanced Lotion will not expire until November 18, 2017 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox!

  46. Hi Barbara,

I have a beauty retail store in California, and am very interested in carrying Alpha Hydrox Skin Care in my store. Could you please advise on how should I get started?

Thanks a lot and looking forward to hearing from you!

  47. Hi, I’m a 52 year old male with an olive complexion, oily skin with the occasional acne breakout. Your product was highly recommended to me, but i’m at a loss as to what products to buy. Can provide me a detailed Alpha Hydroxy product regimen for someone with my skin type? Thanks in advance for your help.

    1. Good day! Thanks for your interest in Alpha Hydrox! We will be happy to recommend products that we think will work well for you. We would suggest starting with Foaming Face Wash. It is a clarifying cleanser that should be used in the morning and at night. It will set your skin to the proper pH level; not oily but not dry. During the day you may not need to use anything else. At night, however, after cleansing we recommend using Alpha Hydrox Oil-Free Treatment. It is a 10% AHA and will help to gently exfoliate the top layer of dead skin cells. It will help to unclog pores and reduce the possibility of breakouts. The total cost for both products is less than $17. Please be aware that when you first starts using AHAs breakouts usually happen for the first week or so. This is normal. As you exfoliate daily with an AHA it is bringing deeply embedded dirt, oil and grime to the surface of your skin. As this is released and removed breakouts will begin to ease. With continued use of AHAs you should have few if any breakouts. If you ever decide to use an AHA twice a day, morning and night, please add a sunscreen to your morning routine. AHAs do not make you sun sensitive but they do remove the top layer of dead skin skin cells. This layer is the bodies natural sun protection. If you do not replace it with a sunscreen you will be more susceptible to sun damage. Even with olive skin you will need to have some protection from the sun. We hope that helps to answer your question. Pleas feel free to contact us again if you have other questions or concerns. Here is the link to our website where you can get other information and shop our full line of products. Thanks again for your interest in Alpha Hydrox! http://www.neotericcosmetics.com/alpha-hydrox/products/new-generation.html

  48. Hi, can you tell me the expiration date for the product I recieved: 14L43591 0808

Also can you explain how the code specifically, so next time I can do it myself?

    Thanks!

    1. Hi Lexy, the code on your product is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on November 14, 2014. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. That means that your product will not expire until November 14, 2017 at the earliest.

  49. Hey there I just started using ur line and I like it so far I got the face wash (worried it’s not gonna be enough to get long wearing makeup off tho) and the 10% oil free (which is drying for my dry acne prone skin) what can I use under makeup for moisture and night time to treat acne, scaring n uneven skin tone??? I need moisture back in my face but have acne prone skin too so I need a good skincare regimen please help 🙂

    1. Hi Angela! Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox. The Foaming Face Wash should be enough to get off long wearing make-up. Just be sure to gently but thoroughly massage your skin in small circles so it can release the make-up from all directions. As far as the 10% Oil-Free Treatment, that is really formulated for oily skin. It sounds to me like you have acne-prone skin but not oily skin. We would suggest using our 10% Enhance Cream instead of the Oil-Free. We know it sounds counter intuitive but the cream is for normal skin and will help to get your skin balanced again. Are you using the AHAs at night or during the day? It might be best to us these two products only at night for a while and give you skin a chance to calm. The 10% Enhanced Cream does have emollients in it which will help with the dryness. For daytime under make-up you could try our Sheer Silk Moisturizer with SPF 15. It is very light-weight and can easily be worn under make-up. If you email us at bgoldstein@slginc.com, we will send you an Enhanced Cream free for you to try. It sounds like you may have started with the wrong AHA product and we want to help correct that. Let us know if we can help any further.

      1. Thanks for the reply!!! 🙂 so I took back the one for oily skin and got the 14% serum and enhanced 10% now how do I use those in the day and night can I use just them I don’t want to add any other moisturizer I have spf 55 sunscreen live in southern cali but not sure which goes first gonna wash my face tonight but I don’t know what to use first or anything :/

      2. Hi Angela! sorry for the delay! It has been a really busy day. Please return the 14% Intensive Serum. It is going to be way too harsh for your skin! The Serum is only for people who have been using AHAs for years. I have been using AHAs since 1992 and when I first started using the Serum even I had a several days of irritation. The 10% Enhanced Cream is fine for you to use after you wash your face at night. That should be enough for now. You can always add an AHA during the day as your skin gets used to AHAs. There is no need to add any moisturizers at this time and it’s great that you are using a sunscreen! Hope that helps to answer your questions! Please feel free to stay in touch!

      3. I need moisture under my make up in the daytime but want minimum products cuz my skin breaks out bad I just wash, spf 55 and don’t know if I should use the serum or lotion tomorrow? I have lots of acne scars and acne on my chin and cheeks I’m 33 and dry n acne prone :/ I was using a beauty blender by real techniques and I think all of the sponges I’ve been using was breaking me out cuz it was getting bacteria even tho I put it out to dry does anyone else use a sponge to apply makeup I want to use them but scared after the under the skin break out I’ve been having sooooo frustrating ; ((((((

      4. Hi again! Do not use the serum or 10% AHA during the day just yet. We know your skin will respond to Alpha Hydrox but right now, less is more. Please try to wash your face and use the 10% at night. Wash your face and use your sunscreen during the day. Do this for one week and you will begin to see improvement. Your skin needs a chance to find balance and calm. In a week or 2 you can begin to introduce other products. Hope this is clear and helps you know what you need to do.

      5. If you have acne problem-prone skin, make-up sponges may not be a good idea. You are correct. They do harbor dirt and bacteria. It is hard to get them thoroughly clean. Wash your hands and apply make-up with clean finger tips!

      6. I just washed with the foaming wash and used the 14% serum it feels very moisturizing but I only want to use this and no other moisurizer or anything I don’t know what the enhanced lotion does or if I even need it?

      7. I know it is late but please review some of this thread. The 14% is much too harsh for you to use just yet. It may have been fine one time but continued use may cause problems until you get used to using AHAs. The 10% is a much better choice for daily use for a while. We want to help you to get great results without over-treating your skin. When it comes to skin care, nothing works over night. You will get the best results if you go slow and are consistent. Let us know if we can be of further help!

      8. Hey I used the 14% and I honestly haven’t seen my skin look this good before it didn’t irritate or bother my skin but made it look new bright and refreshed are u sure it’s too much even tho I’ve used it 2 times and seen a huge improvement? What is the enhancing lotion am I suppose to use that alone or? There isn’t too many options at ulta and don’t want to buy online incase I need to return it… as of now I really like the serum but maybe just use it at night and the enhanced lotion in am? I want less products on my face cuz I break out easily so far the serum face wash and no sponge has made my bumps go down a lot!!

  50. I just saw ur other comment… so don’t use anything except a sunscreen in the day (don’t have a moisurizer and ulta doesn’t have the sheer one) just wash with face wash and use 10% enhancing lotion at night… ? Can I keep the serum and use it later I really like it… it helped clear my skin much faster!!!!

  51. So from now on I will just wash with the foaming cleanser then spf 55 and at night wash and 10% enhanced lotion now that I know hahaha thanks for all ur help 🙂 and sorry for so many messages lol

  52. Also I have been using natural AHA all bright line by boots botanics for months I used their face wash and moisturizer night and day it was the natural AHA tho with hibiscus…. I guess I’ll return the serum even tho I love the results just in 1 day lol

    1. Hi there, the code on your product is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on January 07, 2014. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. That means that your product will not expire until January 07, 2017 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox!

  53. My dermatologist has recommended me to use “Alphahidrox lotion” (it is a transparent liquid substance) to my problems on my face (since a few months ago to this day my face changed and is now dry, rough and dark) When do I need to apply “Alphahidrox lotion? Apply only by the nights? For how long; 10, 15, 20 minutes? Should rinse your face? Can I sleep with the application in the face? …. Do you have a branch here in California / USA?

Thank you and I hope your answers.
    Ms. Martha P.

    1. Hi Martha! Thanks for your interest in Alpha Hydrox! If you have never used an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) before we suggest you start by using it at night. We suggest that you start with a 10% AHA formula. We have two that should work for you; one is a lotion and one is a cream. We are including a link to our products below. Wash your face at night and apply the 10% AHA. Do not rinse it off. It can stay on your skin all night. For the first few days, it may tingle when you first use it. This is normal and will go away in less than a minute. It tells you that it is working. It is loosening the glue-like bonds that hold dead skin cells to the surface. This will go away all together as your skin gets used to using AHAs. If you are really dry you can put a moisturizer on over the AHA. AHAs are NOT moisturizers they are treatment products. Even though they come in a cream form, you may need to use a moisturizer as well. Our products are available at Ulta stores in California but you will find the best selection directly from us. We hope that helps to answer you question. Please feel free to contact us again if you have other questions or concerns.

  54. I found pack of Alpha Hydrox intensive AHA revitalizing peels masks ( 14%glycolic cloth masks) in the back of my beauty drawer. The code is 09A62536. I forgot I had them. Are they still safe to use or have they expired? I live in Canada and we don’t have Ulta here unfortunately.

    1. Hi Jennifer! Thanks for checking with us! The code on the AHA Revitalizing Peel Masks is a manufacturing code. It indicates that masks were made on January 9, 2006. All our products have a shelf of a minimum of 3 years which means that the masks expired in 2009. They would not hurt you if you used them but they are also ineffective. This many years later, there would be no benefit in using them. We hope that answers your question. Again, thanks for checking with us and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox!

      1. Thank you so much for getting back to me. I really appreciate the prompt response. I really wish the products where available in Canada. I see some online shopping in my future.

  55. I see that AHAs’ shelf life is 3years after manufacturing and is effected by many factors as temporature, humudity, atmosphere,…. I wonder whether or not i could use my AHA 10% enhanced lotion in 3 years if i keep it in my refrigerator.

    1. Hello and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! We do not recommend using a product beyond three years from the manufacturing date even if it has been stored in a refrigerator. Thanks for checking with us.

  57. I have very oily, acne prone skin. I’m also starting to worry about fine lines. Would the clarifying foaming cleanser help these issues? And any other products that you would recommend for this?

    1. Hi Stacey! Thanks for your interest in Alpha Hydrox! I think we may have just answered your question on Facebook! Even if you are a different Stacey, the answer is the same – so here goes.Hi Stacey! We suggest starting with 2 products; Foaming Face Wash and 10% AHA Oil-Free Treatment at night. The Foaming Face Wash is a clarifying cleanser. It is pH balanced, non-drying but will leave your skin at the proper pH to then use an AHA. AHA’s will help to reduce acne breakouts and help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. That being said, AHAs gently and naturally exfoliate the top layer of dead skin cells. As you remove these unnecessary layers, you may have some break out from pores that have been clogged for sometime. Please be willing to give Alpha Hydrox 1 – 2 weeks to see real improvement. Your skin should feel better and much softer in just a few days. Also if you can, we HIGHLY suggest wearing a lightweight sunscreen during the day. That layer of dead unnecessary cells is the bodies natural sun protection. When you remove it, you need to replace it with a daily sunscreen to avoid sun damage and premature aging. We hope that helps to answer your question. If not, please feel free to contact us again. Stacey, good luck and let us know how it is working for you!

Could you please confirm about these product? Did they have seals?
    Thank a lot

  65. Dear Barbara, I have a question about the Alpha Hydrox AHA. I saw the capacity is 50ml. But when my friend check the product under the lamp’s light It just =1/2 the tube. IT’s not full,
So can you confirm me that all of these products are not full? if you need picture I can send you. Thank you a lot

    1. Good day! Thanks for checking with us. We will be happy to try and answer your question. What product are you referring to? The fill level is not the same as the weight on most cosmetic products. There has to be some space between the fill and the crimp to account for changes in altitude and temperature. The fill will look different depending upon where you live i.e. sea level vs mountains and the time of year; winter vs. summer. I hope that helps to answer your question. Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox!

  66. Can you help me with the expiration date on Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion 10% Glycolic AHA?
The code on the bottom says 15F13144 1016. Thanks!

    1. Hi there, the code is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on June 15, 2011. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. That means that it was good until June 15, 2014 for sure.

  67. Guessing that maybe my sister’s bottle has expired because the one I just bought is more white in color? Does the lotion yellow some with age?

    1. Hi there. Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code on your AHA Souffle is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on April 08, 2015. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. That means that your AHA Souffle will not expire until April 08, 2018 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us!

  68. Hello, I would like to please request the expiry date of my AHA Souffle 12% code:
    26J33452

Can you tell me the best deadline to stop use it & change another one.

    Thanks for your time.

  70. Hi, I bought alpha hydroxy face cream from Walgreen and it does not have any inside cover. So, I return that product and again I bought another one, also it has no inside cover. Also, I do not see the expiry date. Only it has one code on the bottom of this container, 14302EB. Could you please tell me, What is the expiry date of this AHA face cream products?

    1. Hello and thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! We do not put seals on our AHA products unless they are a liquid formula like our Intensive Serum. The manufacturing code should have a letter in it. Without a code with a letter, we cannot tell you the expiration date. All of our products, however, have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. We manufacture so frequently that it is unlikely your AHA product will expire before you use it. Most products being sold at Walgreens currently we manufactured less than 6 months ago and will be good for quite some time. Thanks for checking with us!

    1. Hi there! Thanks for your interest in Alpha Hydrox! Unfortunately, we do not ship to Pakistan. We do have a lot of international customers. Most of them use a third party shipping service like bongous.com. Often several people will get together and place an order and share the shipping costs. We hope we have helped to answer your question. Here is the link for bongo – bongous.com/

  71. I’d like to know the expiration date of my bottle, I kept it in a cool dark place for the most place but its seemed to have yellowed. The code is 03K334560809.

  73. Hi! I recently ordered two bottles of Alpha Hydroxy Lotion from Amazon. I didn’t expect it to be huge so I’m worried that I won’t be able to finish both bottles if this expires within 3 years. It wasn’t easy buying the products because I don’t live in the US so I had it shipped here in the Philippines. I only use a tiny amount when I apply it at night so I guess one bottle will last me about a year and a half. May I know the expiration date of the bottles that I bought? Here are the codes: 21H536730739 and 21H536730745. Thanks!

    1. Hi there. Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code is a manufacturing code and indicates that both lotions were made on August 21, 2015. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. That means that it will not expire until August 21, 2018 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us!

  74. Hi, how does one find out the date of manufacture and expiration of Alpha Hydrox products? Why is’t this information easily available on the packaging itself? I have purchased a AH Anti-Wrinkle Intensive Serum 14% Glycol AHA with serial # 29K53693 from Amazon India. In fact, I have ordered another product ( yet to receive) and am worried if these are genuine and within validity.
    Thank you,
    Sunanda

    1. Hi Sunanda. Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox! The code is a manufacturing code and indicates that the Serum was made on October 29, 2015. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. That means that it will not expire until October 29, 2018 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us!

  75. Thanks Barbara! I have already ordered the AHA Retinol Night REsQ firming complex and am now looking for a mosturizer. I am 50 and have a very dry skin so can you please recommend a product.
    Thanks, Sunanda

    1. Hi Sunanda! Sorry for the delay. It looks like a reply did not post. We recommend Essential Facial Moisturizer. It can be used both day and night. It is very moisturizing and has vitamins that help to nourish skin and reduce the signs of aging. Most importantly, it has Hylauronic Acid which is a moisture bonding agent. It helps to hold moisture in the skin and can hold thousands of times its weight in moisture. You body makes Hylauronic Acid naturally but after age 40 the amount in your skin begins to decrease. That’s why it is important to use a products that helps to replenish it. I am including the link to our Essential Facial Moisturizer. I hope we have helped to answer your question. http://www.neotericcosmetics.com/essential-facial-moisturizer/

  76. Appreciate your prompt response. Unfortunately, this cream is not available in India. Available product is AH sheer moisture with SPF 15.

    Thanks for your help.
    Sunanda

All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. That means that your body lotion will not expire until February 20, 2018 at the earliest. Thanks for checking with us!

  77. I was wondering if my alpha hydroxy lotion was working since my skin is not red or tingling? Is it still new enough to be effective? The numbers on the bottom of the bottle are 16K53689 with 0819 underneath. I bought at Walgreens. It was the last bottle.
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Angela,
Thanks for using Alpha Hydrox, now Alpha Skin Care! The code on the bottom is a manufacturers code and indicates that you lotion was made on November 16, 2005. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. That means that your body lotion will not expire until November 16, 2018 at the earliest. When people first start using AHAs there may be some tingling but as you continue to use them that does go away. The AHAs are still working. It just means that your skin has adjusted to using AHAs as part of your routine. You could move to a higher percentage if you would like. We have a 12% lotion and a 14% serum. Here is a link to our website page that lists other products. We hope that helps to answer your questions. Thanks for checking with us! http://www.neotericcosmetics.com/alpha-skin-care/anti-aging/

  79. Hi, I just bought Alpha Hydrox Aaja swipes. Can I apply my retinal cream as my moisturizer after using the swipes? Also, can I use my toner before using the swipes? I am new to the chemical peels so I want to make sure I do it right. Thanks.

    1. Hi Paula,
Thanks for using Alpha Skin Care and thanks for checking with us! We do not recommend using AHA products like the swipes together with retinol. They are 2 different kinds of treatment products. Retinol should be used only at night. You can use a toner before using the swipes during the day but be sure to wear a sunscreen as well. We hope this will help to answer your questions. If you would like further explanation. feel free to contact us again.

  80. Hello from Greece! Do you ship internationally? or the only chance is Amazon? Thank you for your time.

    1. Hi Amalia,
Thanks for your interest in our products! Unfortunately, we do not ship outside the United States. We do have a lot of people that buy our products and have them shipped through a third party shipper like bongous.com. 81. Hello! Just wondering when my foaming face wash expires. The code is 20L82832 0750
    Thank you so much!!

    1. Hi Carolyn,
Thanks for using Alpha Skin Care! The code indicates on your Foaming Face Wash is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on November 20, 2008. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. That means that your Foaming Face Wash expired on November 20, 2011. It will not hurt you to use it but it also will be far less effective due to the age of the product. We suggest getting a new one. Right now, if you buy a sunscreen, you can get a Refreshing Face Wash free. The special ends July 31st. Here is the link to the website for your convenience. 82. Hi,
I’m from the UK and I have terrible acne all over my face. I’ve had this since I started puberty and unfortunately all the common ingredients for treating acne don’t work on me such as tea tree oil, witch hazel and salicylic acid. I was just wondering if your products have ever worked for people with severe acne and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation? If so, which product do you recommend and where can I buy them?
    Thank you.

    1. Hi Annalise,
Thanks for checking with us. Alpha Hydroxy Acids can help people with severe acne. They are natural fruit acid exfoliants. They loosen the glue-like bonds that hold dead skin cells to the surface of the skin. As you remove the top layer of dead skin it helps to unclog pores and allows new, fresh, healthy cells to come to the surface. It is a gentle, gradual process. We recommend two products for acne relief. Our Refreshing Face Wash (mild gentle soap-free cleanser) and Essential Renewal Gel. The Gel is oil-free and is a 10% Glycolic Alpha Hydroxy Acid formula. 10% is a good percentage to start with. You don’t want to use anything too harsh. Over treating your skin can make acne worse. Unfortunately, we do not have a retail partner of distributor in the UK. Our international customers use a third party shipper to buy and ship our products. Bongous.com is one that many have used with good results. We hope we have answered your questions. If you have other questions or concerns, please feel free to check back.

  83. Greetings. I purchased A Alpha 12% enhanced revitilizing cream from Amazon…and it has no expiration date on it. I found these 2 codes on bottom of it…B01D2M4GNO (100799944) and another code beneath the strip…”3537915142. How to know expiration of this product?. Please let me know the details.

    1. Hi and thanks for using Alpha Skin Care! We will be happy to help you but unfortunately, the codes you provided are not manufacturing codes. One is a retail UPC code. Please provide the code found at the top of the tube in the crimp. It will start with two numbers followed by a letter and then another number. FYI, we just started manufacturing the new line in January/February of this year. All of our products have a minimum shelf life of three years. That means that your 12% Enhanced Revitalizing Cream will not expire until January or February of 2019 at the earliest. We hope we have helped to answer your question.

      1. Oh thank you very much :). I already started using it and really loved the way it added glow and clarity to my skin. I am using just a small amount (half of the peanut size) on my entire face. Is it enough?

  84. Hi Venkat! We are glad you are happy with the way our products make your skin look and feel. As long as you are able to cover your whole face and neck, (Don’t forget your neck!) you are probably using enough. It should absorb fairly quickly and should not feel slick or sticky. That would mean you are using too much. Thanks for checking with us!

    1. Hi Jayne! Thanks for using Alpha Skin care! The code on your serum indicates that it was made on June 26, 2015. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of three years. That means your serum will not expire until June 26, 2018 at the earliest. The face wash was made on July 14, 2015 and will not expire until July 14, 2018. We manufacture so frequently that it is unlikely that you will ever find an expired Alpha Skin Care product if you are buying it from us or a retail partner. We hope this answers your questions.

  85. Based on your replies, is it correct then that exp date for my Foaming Face Wash #14G53661 is JUL 14, 2019 and for my 14% Glycolic AHA Serum #26F53658 is JUN 26, 2019?

    1. OoOps didn’t see you had replied, matched up the first to digits as day, letter as month (with letter I deleted) and next numeral as last number of year produced but thank you for your reply !!

    1. Hi Simu
Thanks for checking with us about shipping to Malaysia. Unfortunately, we do not ship internationally. It is possible to use a third party shipping service to buy our products and then have them shipped to you. Many of our consumers outside the U.S. use FedEx CrossBorder at crossborder.fedex.com We hope this will help you to get the Alpha Skin Care products you would like to buy!

  86. Hi I’m wondering why the price increase with Alpha Hydrox AHA Enhanced lotion? I ordered it in march from amazon at $10. Something and now it’s $23.46.
Thanks for any info on what’s going on.

    1. Hi Jana! Thanks for using our Alpha brand of skin care products. In February, Alpha Hydrox became Alpha Skin Care. If you bought Alpha Hydrox in March from Amazon, it was probably on close out. We are including a link to a blog that will explain how Alpha Hydrox became Alpha Skin Care earlier this year.
      https://wordpress.com/post/alphaskincare.wordpress.com/469

Until February of this year, we had not had a price increase in more than 10 years. In that time we made many improvements to our formulations and expanded our range of active ingredients. We had to increase prices to keep up with our costs. We are trying to keep our prices reasonable and we are still one most effective, most affordable skin care lines available. That being said, we do not have any control over Amazon and their pricing. On our website, the 10% Essential Renewal Cream (formerly known as 10% Enhanced Lotion) is only $16.99. You and buy directly from us. Here is the link to our site.
      http://www.neotericcosmetics.com/essential-renewal-lotion-10-aha/

We offer specials and discounts throughout the year and hope you will consider buying during those times to help offset the pricing changes. We hope this will help to answer your question and clarify the changes we have made this year. Thanks for checking with us. Please feel free to contact us again with questions or concerns.

  87. Hi. I would like to know if my product has expired. I bought the old style 10% aha lotion today and it has a rank oder to it. Please let me know. The bottom numbers are 22K33463. Thanks a lot!

    1. Good morning Jess,
Sorry for the delay in answering your question. Our server was down until this morning. The code on your 10% AHA product is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on December 22, 2013. All our products have a shelf life of a minimum of three years. That means that it will not expire until Dec. 22, 2016. That being said, temperature, light, exposure to air and humidity, can all impact the life span of a product. Also, AHAs naturally have a light sour odor. It is from the glycolic acid. We do not use fragrances to cover it up because more people have skin reactions to fragrances than to AHAs. If the product has been left open or in a warm humid room, it is probably best to replace it. If not, it is probably okay to use. We hope that helps to answer your question.

  88. hello I’ve just bought an ALPHA AHA 10% OIL FREE GEL but I realize that the product’s appearance is different from the picture of your website. I can’t attach the picture here. can you reply me so I can send you the picture of it. many thanks

    1. Good day! Thanks for using Alpha Skin Care and for checking with us about your Oil-Free Gel. The code you provided is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on June 21, 2016. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years so your Oil-Free Gel is good until at least June 21, 2019. As far as the packaging, we have made several packaging changes this year so the color, font and language may be a little different than what is on the website. No need to worry about the packaging. The code you provided confirms that it is our product, not a knock off and it is good to use for 2 and a half years. Thanks for checking with us!

  89. hello I’ve just bought an ALPHA AHA 10% OIL FREE GEL but I realize that the product’s appearance is different from the picture of your website. Can you confirm that it is authentic?
    many thanks
And I see The bottom numbers of it is 21F63768

  90. Hi, my product code is 02K53686 . Oil free treatment 10% aha . I have checked its production date. Its november 2015. however, I have tried a lot to search for the expiration date or more simply how long can the product can be used ? Please check it for me so i can continue using it more safely

    1. Hello and thanks for using Alpha Skin Care! The code on you Oil-Free Gel is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on Dec. 2, 2015. All of our products have a shelf life of a minimum of 3 years. That means that your Oil-Free Gel will not expire until Dec. 2, 2018. Our products are never unsafe to use but they will be less effective if they get too old. We hope that answers your question. Thanks for checking with us!

    1. Hello and thanks for using Alpha Skin Care! The code on your Alpha Skin Care product is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on June 19, 2015. All of our products have a shelf life of a minimum of 3 years. That means that it will not expire until June 19, 2018. Our products are never unsafe to use but they do become less effective as they get older. We hope that answers your question. Thanks for checking with us!

  91. Hi there, I have the old version of the alpha hydrox aha souffle and I would like to know if it’s expired. The code numbers are: 08D53633. What happens if you have used an expired product? And what’s the shelf life after opening it? Thank you!

    1. Hello and thanks for using Alpha Skin Care (formerly Alpha Hydrox)! The code on your Souffle is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on April 8, 2015. All of our products have a shelf life of a minimum of 3 years. That means that it will not expire until April 8, 2018 at the earliest. Our products are never unsafe to use but it will become less effective passed the expiration date. It is hard to determine a shelf life after it is open. there are a lot of factors. Exposure to sunlight and air, changes in temperature and humidity all affect a cosmetic product after it has been opened. It is probably best to use within 3 – 4 months. We hope we have answered your questions. Thanks for checking with us!

      1. I have purchased Alpha 12% rejuvenating cream 6 months ago…and stopped using for 2 months because of some reasons…my concern is….is it still safe to use as i opened the tube 6 months ago?. Texture and colour is still intact…but most of the tube is still unused…:(

  92. I wonder why you can’t save people the time and hassle of writing for an expiration date on your products? Since they HAVE an expiration date in terms of effectiveness, why not just show it on the container? I just found a half bottle of Enhanced Lotion 10% Glycolic AHA in my bathroom. The code on the bottom is 08M13221. Is it still effective? Many thanks! Sharon

    1. Hi Sharon! Thanks for using Alpha Skin Care (formerly Alpha Hydrox)! The code you provided is a manufacturing code. It indicates that your Enhanced Lotion was made on Dec.12, 2011. All of our products have a shelf life of a minimum of 3 years. That means that it expired on Dec. 12, 2014. Our products are never unsafe to use but they are less effective passed the expiration date. It is also hard to determine shelf life after it is open. There are a lot of factors that can affect a cosmetic product. Exposure to sunlight and air, changes in temperature and humidity all affect a product after it has been opened. It is probably best to replace your Enhanced Lotion. In February, we will be having a Buy 2 – Get 1 Free special. If you can wait a few days, February might be a good time to replace it. We hope we have answered your questions. Thanks for checking with us!

  93. I’ve just purchased two bottles of your wonderful intensive rejuvenating serum, but both boxes look different. How can I tell the expiration or manufacturing date on each bottle, so I know which one to use first?

    1. Hi Karen,
Thanks for using Alpha Skin Care! We are in the middle of some packaging changes. If you send us the the number that is on the bottom of the container (not the box) we can tell you when the serum was made. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. We manufacture frequently. Chances are that the 2 bottles of serum that you have have been made in the last 6 months or less. That means that both serums will not expire until sometime in 2019. Our products are never harmful if used after they expire but they will not be as effective. We hope this will help to answer your question. Thanks again for using Alpha Skin Care!

  94. Hi. I also just wanted to ask about the expiration date of my Renewal Body Lotion 12% since I couldn’t quit figure out how the code works from the other responses! It is 18A73818. Thanks

    1. Hello and thanks for using Alpha Skin Care! The code on your Alpha Skin Care Renewal Body Lotion is a manufacturing code and indicates that it was made on January 18, 2017. All of our products have a shelf life of a minimum of 3 years. That means that your body lotion will not expire until January 18, 2020 at the earliest. We hope that answers your question. Thanks for checking with us!

  95. Hi

  105. Hi, I live in the UK and have just heard about your products which I’m desperate to try but can’t order online as you won’t ship to the UK. I’ve found 3 products on Amazon UK but this is very limited choice which is hugely overpriced (over double US prices). Any ideas if you’ll be expanding your shipping area to include the UK?

    1. Hi Nicole,
Thanks for your interest in Alpha Skin Care and for checking with us. Unfortunately, it is unlikely we will ever be able to ship directly to the UK. We distribute brands for UK manufacturers in the US. Regulations are very different in each country. In the UK, regulations governing cosmetic products are much more strict. You might try using a third party shipper like FedEx Cross Borders. They may be able to help you get the products you would like to buy. We are including the link for your convenience. We are sorry that we are not able to help you further. http://crossborder.fedex.com/us/

    1. I believe I’ve figured out the code… it appears it was manufactured on Nov. 14, 2014 which would make the toner expired. I just received it today from a 3rd party seller on Amazon. Looks like I need to return it?

      1. Hi Julie,
The code is a manufacturing code and you are partially correct. It was made on Dec. 14, 2014. All of our products have a shelf life that is a minimum of 3 years. Products may be good longer if they are stored properly (no heat or direct sunlight). Your toner is only 2 months beyond the date required for labeling. You might try it and see how it feels before returning it especially if you plan to use it up in the next 2 – 3 months. On a side note, we do not recommend buying from any seller that is not authorized to sell our products. We cannot guarantee the product or its authenticity. Thanks for checking with us!
