Same Great Products, Different Names!

shutterstock_145003582

“Names aren’t just coat hooks, they’re coats.  They’re the first thing anyone knows about you.” – Nick Harkaway

If names are like coats, we wear them, and not like coat hooks, a place to hang them, shouldn’t names accurately reflect who we are?  That is the thinking behind changing the Alpha Skin Care product names.  The formulas have not changed, just the names. It may take some getting used to but we believe the new product names best describe the products and what they do. For example, Foaming Face Wash did not foam in the way that many thought it would but it is refreshing and it makes your skin feel that way so we changed the name to Refreshing Face Wash. In short, Alpha Skin Care products are all wearing new coats!

So without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to the newly named Alpha Skin Care products!

I like the new packaging & the new names are pretty easy to connect to the old.
Whatever you call them, your products are still the best. Thanks for the update.

Your products are awesome and we all enjoyed the affordable price. However, you’ve changed packaging but kept same ingredients and raised the price!

    • Hi Kim!
Thank you for using Alpha Skin Care (formerly Alpha Hydrox)and thanks for your comments and feedback. Until February of this year, we had not had a price increase in about 10 years. In that 10 year period, we made many improvements to our formulations and expanded our range of active ingredients. We had to increase prices to keep up with our costs. We understand your concerns about the price increase. We know it may not seem like it but, we are trying to keep our prices reasonable. We will continue to offer specials and discounts throughout the year and hope you will consider buying during those times to help offset the pricing changes. As a small American manufacturer, every customer is important to us. Buying Alpha Skin Care means you help to support 65 employees and their families and we want you to know we do not take that for granted. We want to hear from our consumers, good and bad. It will help us to be a better company. Thanks again for your comments.

Any chance of bringing back a body wash?

    • Good day! Thanks for your interest in the Sea Mist Body Wash! Unfortunately,we will not be bringing it back as it was. In the last several years, we have tried to update all our products and formulas. It may return with a new scent but no definitive plans at this time. Thanks for checking with us!

I am very disappointed that you raised the price AND made the product smaller! I have been using the lotion for almost 20 years now and I really felt like the changes were a slap in the face. I could have dealt with a price increase if you had just kept the same size. I’m thinking about looking for another brand. So sad.

    • Hi Jeannine,
Thanks for using Alpha skin Care. We appreciate your comments and feedback. Are you referring to the Essential Renewal Lotion? (formerly called 10% Enhanced Lotion) The Essential Renewal Lotion is the only item that is smaller amount. Several of our other products actually offer larger amounts. Until February of this year, we had not had a price increase in more than 10 years. In that time we made many improvements to our formulations and expanded our range of active ingredients. We had to increase prices to keep up with our costs. We are trying to keep our prices reasonable and we are still one most effective, most affordable skin care lines available. We continue to offer specials and discounts throughout the year and hope you will consider buying during those times to help offset the pricing changes. As a small American manufacturer, every customer is important to our employees and their families. We value and respect our customers and do not take them for granted. Thanks again for your comments.

I also have used Alpha Hydrox enhanced for 30+ years with wonderful success. I too have watched it improve and get up to 10% and have used that for many years. Then last year I noticed that the price had jumped to a ridiculous price and held off purchase for about 6 months and tried a cheaper product without the same results. I noticed recently that Amazon had the 10% at a decent price and ordered a jar, even though it wasn’t 2 oz as I remembered from before. I also didn’t notice that the Hydrox was dropped off the name, just looked at the capital A. Unfortunately I can tell right off that the product is different, smells different, didn’t have a sealed cover over it and it didn’t tingle on my face like the old product. I am disappointed that the original isn’t available and I hate when companies decided to change a tried and true product just for the money profit. I understand the cost increase but not a lesser amount of both product and strength of ingredients. I started using this back when your commercials were about turning face care upside down and good face care at a affordable price. Not so much now.

    • Good day and thanks for being a long time loyal Alpha Hydro user. We appreciate your comments and feedback. We began making Alpha Hydrox in 1992 and in February of 2016, Alpha Hydrox changed the brand name to Alpha Skin Care. The products are NOT different. We did not change the AHA formulations. We also did NOT reduce the percentage of AHAs. The percentages are, and always have been, highlighted on the front of the box; 10%, 12% and 14%. Our products are the same but they do have new names. The Essential Renewal Lotion (formerly called 10% Enhanced Lotion) is the only item that is a smaller size. In fact, several of our other products actually offer larger amounts. Until February of 2016 we had not had a price increase in more than 10 years. Like most businesses, we had to increase prices to keep up with our costs. We are trying to keep our prices reasonable and we are still the most effective, most affordable skin care line available. We continue to offer specials and discounts throughout the year and hope you will consider buying during those times. In February, we will have a Buy 2 – Get 1 Free offer. It is up to you to decide what products you buy but we believe that Alpha Skin Care is still the best skin care products you will find for less than $20.

Is there a bodywash product in your skinline sillmilar to the moisturizing Sea Mist body wash? I use this product for a specific skin condition that only this product was able to contain. I’m very disappointed that it was discontinued. Was there a specific reason why this product was discontinued and when do you expect it coming back online?
    Thank you,
    Robin

    • Hi Robin,
Thanks for using our products! Unfortunately, we have discontinued the Sea Mist Body Wash. The ingredients were rather expensive and we did not sell a lot of it. Like you, I loved the product and am disappointed that we had to discontinue it. Regretfully, we will not make it again. Have you tried our Renewal Body Lotion? It may work to treat your skin condition. Like the Sea Mist Body Wash, it has AHAs in it. The Body Wash had 4% Glycolic AHA and the Body Lotion has 12% Glycolic AHA. We sell a lot of it because it really does help with a variety of difficult skin conditions. It is currently out of stock but it will be available again early next week. We are including the link for the Body Lotion for your convenience. We hope we have answered your question. Thanks for checking with us and for using our products. http://www.neotericcosmetics.com/renewal-body-lotion-12-aha/
